Bullying Prohibition

Stillwater Area Public Schools is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment where all students can learn and thrive. Bullying, cyberbullying, malicious and sadistic conduct, sexual exploitation, retaliation, and reprisal are prohibited.

To report a bullying concern contact your school principal or another trusted staff member, or complete the Bullying Report and Incident Form.

Student and Parent Rights

Students and parents have the right to:

• Learn in a school environment free from bullying and other prohibited conduct.
• Report concerns about bullying or other prohibited conduct without fear of retaliation.
• Have reports of bullying promptly reviewed and investigated by the district.
• Receive appropriate support and intervention designed to stop prohibited conduct, protect students, and prevent recurrence.

Student and Parent Responsibilities

Students, parents, and guardians are encouraged to:

• Treat others with dignity and respect.
• Report bullying or other prohibited conduct to a teacher, administrator, counselor, or other trusted school employee as soon as possible.
• Cooperate during the investigation of reported incidents.
• Help foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive school climate.

Acts of bullying are prohibited on school district property, at school-sponsored activities, on school transportation, and through the misuse of technology as outlined in Policy 514. The policy also applies to certain conduct occurring off school property when it materially and substantially disrupts student learning or the school environment.

The district will investigate all reports of bullying and take appropriate action in accordance with Policy 514. Retaliation against a person who reports bullying or participates in an investigation in good faith is prohibited. Knowingly making a false report of bullying is also prohibited.
