Board considers calendar options for 2022-2023

Board considers calendar options for 2022-2023
Board considers calendar options for 2022-2023

School board members are considering two variations of a calendar for next school year. (View Option 1 and Option 2).

Both calendar options have school beginning the week before Labor Day, and feature the staggered starts provided in recent years to help students get familiar with new schools and/or classrooms. In both options the first day of school would be:

  • Aug. 29 for grades 6 & 9
  • Aug. 30 for grades 7, 8, 10-12
  • Sept. 6 for K-5 (Ready, Set, Go conferences would be held  Aug. 29 - Sept. 1)

Option 1 would have a shorter winter break, spring break would be held later in March and the school year would end on June 2.

Option 2 would provide an extra day off prior to Thanksgiving in November, extend winter break for a full two weeks, hold spring break earlier in March and end the school year on June 7.

The board will vote on a final version of the calendar at its January 20 board meeting. You can share your feedback with board members by emailing school-board@stillwaterschools.org
